Last Friday night, Valpo Surf Project (VSP) hosted another successful and inspiring event in Portland, Maine at the beautiful Kingspoke. With the generous support of our food and beverage sponsors, Rising Tide , Downeast Cider, B. Good, and OTTO Pizza, we were able to host more than 75 attendees and exceed our goals for this event.
While enjoying good food and drinks, attendees had the opportunity to bid on unique pieces, such as surfboards, artwork, and even a weeklong vacation, in our silent auction. With the help of our donors, we were able to exceed our fundraising goals which will support VSP’s mission and directly impact the many kids we work with in Valparaíso. For this, we send a big thank you to all of our silent auction donors including Kynd Clothing, Traps Eyewear, Sarah Oliver Handbags, Mary Ellen Rigby, Mary Ann Cadwallader, Patricia Durning, Maine Surfers Union, Primal Adornments, Muse Paintbar, Oratorio Chorale, Maine Lobster Direct, Black Point Surf Shop, Maine Indoor Karting, and Saco Bay Tackle. We are so grateful that they continue to support our work and the children of Valparaíso!
This evening could not have been a success without the time and support from our organizing committee and volunteers, Kim Miller, Peter Griffith, Max Eyes, Tom Meehan, Ned Rich, Megan Brown, Zach Griffith, Laura Cowie, Charlie Walsh, and Collen Thibeaut. An extra special thanks to our development intern in Chile, Eve Gutman, who did a great job of organizing the event from our office in Valparaíso.
We hope that the attendees enjoyed the event and, as always, we are so appreciative of the support that you all show for our Valpo kids. Don’t forget to check out some of the photos from the evening below!
