Our Portland Silent Auction Fundraiser was held Saturday, October 17th at Think Tank Coworking in Portland, Maine. Over 80 people were in attendance ahe event was a huge success. This event could not have been possible without our sponsors: Sierra Nevada, Otto Pizza, B.Good Burgers, New England Distillery, Downeast Cider House, and Yelp.
The event kicked off around 7 pm, while old friends caught up and new ones were made. Among the conversation, bids were made on several items. Some of the silent auction items included a private tour from Rising Tide Brewery, surf lessons and gear from Maine Surfer’s Union and Black Point Surf Shop, among various other generous donations.
This event was also possible because of our hard working event committee, volunteers, the VSP staff in Chile and those in the U.S. We would like to extend a special thank you to Varun Konanki, our event coordinator, as well as all of the committee members: Sam Rigby, Laura Rigby, Henry Myer, Paula Hernandez, Thomas Meehan, Peter Griffith, Ned Rich, Elias Edward-Jenks, and Ian Cook.
The VSP is very pleased with how this event wrapped up our fundraising season. Thanks again to all who made this possible! Stay tuned from more VSP events in the future - we’ll see you next year, Portland!
