The start of our SOCIOS Campaign

We are happy to announce the start of our first Spring 2016 Socios Campaign! What is a socio? Socios are individuals who support us through monthly donations that allow us to actualize our work at Valpo Surf Project. To be a socio signifies that you will be directly helping our organization to achieve its mission. Socios are important because they allow us to gain support directly from Chilean donors, many of whom live within the Valpo community. Our socios campaign also gives us the opportunity to spread the word about the work that we do in Valpo. By involving the city of Valpo more directly in our work, we gain community members who stand in solidarity with VSP and with the children in our program.

As part of our socios campaign, the interns and fellows of Valpo Surf Project have been taking over plazas and popular spots in the city in order to spread the word about socios and VSP. So far, we have had the pleasure of talking to many people within the Valpo community. We’ve gained general support from many community members, as well as new volunteers and community connections. Most importantly, we’ve also gained our first socios! We’re so excited to have these new members of the VSP community and we look forward to working together in the future.
